For cutting steel sheet and flat materials they are easy and fast. Steel comes in many different forms and thicknesses. If you are cutting through thicker sheets an angle grinder power shear or circular saw is the best option. You can cut mild steel up to about 3 8 in.

Thick using a ferrous metal cutting blade. Make sure the plywood is larger than the steel plate you will be cutting. It may not be an obvious choice but fitted with the right blade a circular saw is a great metal cutting tool. Cut metal with your circular saw.

Hot metal chips will fly. Thinner sheets however only require a tin snip.
