Cutting metal can be quite a daunting task.
It may not be an obvious choice but fitted with the right blade a circular saw is a great metal cutting tool.

For stainless tubing a circular saw is a perfect tool to use.
Place a piece of 3 4 inch thick plywood flat on the floor.

The tool i would use is metal cutting scissors or snips it s remarkably easy to get a straight cut with these after a little practice.
Situate the metal under the blade and line the blade up with the cut line.
I would first make a cut far from the line somewhere in the area you re going to discard to get a feeling for a particular tool cutting steel of a particular thickness.

Don t try to cut your stainless steel without clamping it down or it could shift when you re cutting it.
This is because of all the sparks that tend to fly around and the fumes that come out when cutting.
Make sure the plywood is larger than the steel plate you will be cutting.
It is therefore best to work in a well aerated area to allow fresh air in.
If you are cutting through thicker sheets an angle grinder power shear or circular saw is the best option.

The clamps should be tight enough that the sheet metal doesn t shift at all.

Because you will need to clamp the sheet metal it is important to have a workbench and clamp for this.
Thinner sheets however only require a tin snip.
Use clamps you can tighten like f clamps to secure the sheet metal to the table.
