This is a not so little summary of the build of my homemade cnc router aka the overpass. Sheetcnc is a very large 3 axis water cooled cnc routing milling machine which cuts full size plywood mdf plastic and foam sheets. Yeah i own a cnc router that can cut 4 x8 sheets of plywood and i have to say that it would be good for making a jig fixture but there s no advantage to using cnc unless your heart is set. This instructable is more of a documentation of how i built my cnc and is not to be mistaken as a tutorial for buidling a cnc the initial target of my build wa.

This design has been made by one of my friend and i have built one exactly like his. Sheetcnc can machine really big stuff the full board sheetcnc has a working area of 1 25m x 2 47m and offers 240mm of z travel. For example fine inlay work becomes possible. So we currently have 2 machines like this one.

The design i m gonna present is a diy cnc machine made with mdf board. This is my first instructable so maybe there. A typical diy cnc router has fairly loose tolerances compared to a milling machine or lathe but is capable of much tighter tolerances than most other woodworking.
